Workout Programming Deep Dive Print

  • 1

When building a training program in Fitbox there are three options; Benchmark, Favourites, and Custom Workout.

The Benchmark workout program is predefined by Fitbox and contains standard workouts such as; Hero WOD, Open Workouts, 1 rep maxes etc. If there is a Benchmark which hasn't been included, this can be done through adding the benchmark to Favourites. This can found in Administration > Configuration and then Favourites can be selected from the available Configuration options.

To learn more about creating a workout program with predefined Benchmarks see the module "Create your workout program".

This module, on the other hand, does a deep dive into creating a Custom Workout through Custom Section.

After selecting Custom Section, the Create Custom Section form will pop up. The sections with a red asterisk, * , must be filled out to save the custom workout. The form gives a section for a Youtube or Zoom Url which will be displayed in the Live Preview near the end of the page. The next section is scoring, which can be done by Section, Movement or not at all. When there is No scoring, the Type is not compulsory, however, when Score by Section or Score by Movement is selected then the Type must be selected, whether by; AMRAP, Exercise Rep, For Time etc. (to understand the different Scoring options see Scoring Options when creating a workout).

After that the parameters can be included, whether adding; Sets, Rounds , or Duration. Once these have been set, select Finish Editing Section Details.

This will then save the customizations and now the movements associated with the program can be specified. Under Movements,  select + Add Movement. In the middle column displayed, select the Movement Name, the number of reps or Max reps, and the Parameter(s) which the movement will be scored on (if scoring is part of this program). Continue adding movements until the program is complete. If you wish to add this program to Favorites, this can be done by selecting Add to my Favorites in the checkbox. Once satisfied with the movements select Create Section.

The program will now appear in Program Training. If this training program is to be completed on additional days, select the copy button at the top of that day to select additional days for the workout to appear.

After selecting Copy, the Copy Section To will pop up to give full flexibility on exact days which the program is to be replicated. Select Copy to Days once they have been selected.

To edit, delete or copy an individual section select the three ellipses on the top right of the activity. This will bring up the dropdown menu; Copy, Edit, Delete. To replicate this program on additional days, select Copy.
